Basic Salary
The basic salary of an early childhood teacher is the fixed amount paid for core duties—teaching, child care and related tasks—before any additional allowances or bonuses. It varies according to experience, qualifications and the type of setting (e.g. Childcare Centre, Student Care Centre) and forms the foundation of total compensation.
Role Allowance
A role allowance recognises specific responsibilities beyond standard teaching duties—such as Lead Teacher, Curriculum Head or Centre Leader. It is paid on top of basic salary and reflects the extra leadership, administrative or specialised workload associated with these roles. The exact amount depends on the position and level of responsibility.
Performance Bonus
Performance bonuses reward both centre-wide success and individual contribution.
Centre performance: Each centre’s average bonus pool is based on its financial results and average enrolment figures, which we communicate up front so everyone understands the targets.
Individual variation: Within that pool, bonuses are adjusted according to each staff member’s performance against our measured skillsets.
Payment schedule: Bonuses are paid twice a year—alongside April salary (defaulting to a half-month’s pay) and December salary (varying fully with year-end financial performance).
