Here are some of my favorite quotes. While they may not be as specific to the company as our Core Values, they do reflect the philosophies I hold in various aspects of life. I hope they resonate with you as well.
These quotes are organized into several key areas: Achievement, Growth, Grit, Values, and Mentorship. These categories are not chosen at random; they are all critical components that work hand-in-hand.
My preferred style of work has always been to start with the end in mind. By setting a goal from the outset, you challenge yourself to aim for something lofty and ambitious, pushing us to become stronger versions of ourselves. We all have great potential, but often, we impose artificial limits on ourselves. Break that mental limit, and you’ll achieve things you never thought possible.
To set such lofty goals, you need motivation. This is why the first set of quotes focus on "Achievement". These quotes are meant to help you break through mental barriers and aim for the stars—not just aimlessly, but with a firm belief in your capability to achieve those goals.
Once you’ve set a goal, the next step is to take action. This can be daunting, as stepping into the unknown often is. The quotes on "Growth" are here to encourage you to take that leap and push forward.
With the initial step taken, you build momentum. However, achieving a lofty goal is rarely easy. You’ll need to sustain and grow this momentum over a long period. This is where the quotes on "Grit" come into play. Angela Duckworth, in her 2023 TED Talk, explained how grit is a significant predictor of success—more so than intelligence or test scores. My hope for you is to develop a deep level of grit, as it is often what differentiates success from failure.
Next, we consider the quotes on "Values". The path you take to achieve your goals is incredibly important. Tempting shortcuts can often lead to more harm than good. Steve Maraboli’s quote, "The right thing to do and the hard thing to do are usually the same," encapsulates this principle perfectly.
Finally, we arrive at quotes on "Mentorship". It's important to pass down what we've learned. This is a natural, biological impulse not just for humans, but for all living organisms. Here at Mynt, we encapsulate this in our motto to "Inspire the next generation".
