Principal
The Principal provides strategic direction, leading the team to achieve center goals and implement policies. This role oversees curriculum planning, operations, and processes, collaborating with the Cluster Principal, HQ, and ECDA. The Principal also plans and leads center events, activities, and parent/community engagement, while mentoring the Vice-Principal, Lead Teachers, and Curriculum Heads.
Lead staff to achieve centre goals (e.g., conduct training)
Plan and oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functioning
Conduct weekly staff meetings
Implement group policies and ensure compliance with quality standards and statutory requirements
Oversee curriculum planning and implementation to support centre objectives, including child development
Conduct tours for parents and visitors
Conduct staff interviews as needed
Attend HQ meetings and take meeting minutes
Attend MapleBear HQ meetings and comply with MapleBear standards
Liaise with external vendors and statutory bodies (e.g., MOM, ECDA, suppliers, caterers, maintenance, etc.)
Facilitate onboarding and mentorship for new staff:
Introduce staff and centre practices
Review curriculum and teacher roles
Conduct classroom observations
Update monthly:
Staff database
Standing instructions
GsII reports
School bus database
Unconfirmed invoices
Handle new enrolments (notify Accountant via email)
Update ECDA with staff info and teaching certifications, apply for L1/L2 categories
Use CMS to:
Manage enrolments, programme changes, subsidies, and withdrawals
Update child information and subsidy approvals
Manage Dropbox:
Ensure staff and child files are up-to-date and properly labeled
File weekly lesson plans and evaluations
Vet weekly lesson plans and teacher evaluations
Manage work passes, leave applications, and statutory filings (e.g., maternity leave)
Manage Taidii:
Update child profiles, new teachers, and authorised pick-ups
Ensure attendance and logs are updated
Review and approve weekly updates and portfolios
Conduct class promotions and manage teacher leaves
Handle emails regarding centre enquiries, enrolments, vendor coordination, and external communications
Liaise with the Accountant to ensure enrolment targets and budget are met
Maximise resource efficiency, including teacher roster planning
Assist Vice-Principal with petty cash collection, reimbursement, and other financial duties
Mentor and support teachers in their roles, focusing on leadership, professional development, and meeting deadlines
Oversee monthly program planning
Guide staff on handling administrative duties and parent relations
Conduct classroom observations and offer feedback on classroom management strategies
Support teachers through challenges with parents and staff issues
Plan staff bonding events, celebrate birthdays, and mediate disputes
Ensure quality standards in curriculum, operations, health, and safety
Work with Senior/Cluster Principal and HQ to maintain consistency
Follow up on public and parental feedback, involving necessary parties (Principal, HQ, ECDA)
Ensure centre meets ECDA licensing standards for annual renewal
Monitor food and beverage standards, documenting deviations as needed
Conduct yearly staff performance appraisals
Lead the planning and evaluation of centre events (e.g., graduation, children’s day, teacher’s day)
Support large-scale event coordination
Organise parent engagement activities (e.g., PTCs, curriculum teas, workshops)
Maintain the centre’s Facebook account
Build good relationships with parents, the community, and neighbours
Address parental concerns, manage expectations, and handle withdrawals
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Cluster Principal or Accountant
