Curriculum Head (English/Chinese)

Curriculum Head: $200/month (English/ Chinese)

The Curriculum Head ensures the quality and consistency of language education, supporting teachers and overseeing curriculum implementation for their language. They manage all aspects of language education within the centre, such as Letterland, numeracy, and readers, ensuring integration and consistency across all levels.

LEADERSHIP AND PLANNING – WITHIN CENTRE

Oversee, supervise, and guide colleagues in curriculum areas (e.g., English, Chinese, Numeracy)

  • English Curriculum Head: Lead, guide, and oversee English, Readers, Letterland, and Numeracy

  • Chinese Curriculum Head: Lead, guide, and oversee Chinese, Readers, and Numeracy

Review and approve:

  • Weekly overviews, lesson plans, newsletters, quality of learning centres and theme boards, portfolios, and progress reports (if needed)

Ensure:

  • Dropbox and curriculum files are organized and complete

  • Regular stock take of readers and Letterland books

  • Evaluate and improve teaching methods and classroom management

Chinese Curriculum Head

  • Translate and send meeting minutes to Chinese teachers

LEADERSHIP AND PLANNING – WITHIN CLUSTER

Collaborate with other Curriculum Heads to improve and design curriculum

Take minutes during cluster curriculum meetings

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Mentor new teachers:

  • Guide new teachers in writing overviews, lesson plans, and evaluations

  • Complete lesson observation guides with new teachers

Assist teachers:

  • Conduct lessons and provide relief teaching during staff leaves (e.g., medical, childcare)

  • Assist with dual-class teaching

  • Conduct curriculum training and workshops

ENGAGING PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY

Partner with parents and the community in the children's holistic development:

  • Update the parents on Taidii and prepare termly newsletters

  • Encourage parent involvement and conduct workshops
