As we enter 2025, let us reflect on how far we’ve come since opening our first school in January 2018. Over the past seven years, we’ve expanded to four preschools (MapleBear Adam, Kovan, Sengkang, Serangoon Gardens), one student care centre under our own brand (The White Orchid at Kovan), and a new MapleBear Tapestry preschool set to open in March. Along the way, we established our own bus services (Mynt Transportation) and a recruitment company (StarHire).

Our Journey So Far

This growth is a testament to the dedication, heart, and hard work of our entire team. Yet, as our operations continue to multiply, we must recognise that a single management team cannot spearhead every task. To truly scale, we need multiple management teams working largely autonomously, but guided by the same values and practices.

Theme for 2025: Process, Process, Process

Our focus this year will be on developing robust processes for our core operations. We want to establish a clear framework that empowers everyone to make decisions confidently—even in new or unexpected situations—rather than constantly seeking guidance. Our Mynt Guide will be upgraded to serve as a comprehensive source of knowledge for all, enabling us to work more effectively together.

Building the Foundation for Scale

By streamlining and documenting our processes, we’ll lay the groundwork for the next phase: rapid scale. Our medium-term goal is to make The White Orchid a household name, and to achieve that, we need a strong market presence. We plan to open many more schools across both preschool and student care sectors, and we'll do that rapidly, staying true to our core value: live to provoke.

A Future Shaped by AI

With our own brand comes the freedom to be able to reimagine how we deliver education. We must prepare for a future increasingly influenced by AI—something that’s no longer a distant concept, but a rapidly unfolding reality. Our ambition is to be the first education company in Singapore to integrate AI fully, from our internal analytics and parent-facing data to a complete overhaul of how we conduct classes.
